Pokemoncenter.com launched today as I’m sure everyone knows! Personally I thought that the launch did not live up to the hype but I am hoping for more products soon! It’s definitely good to have another US source to buy official merchandise from though. (I feel bad they don’t ship internationally though!).

I was very excited for this, however:

Did anyone buy anything? What did you end up getting?

Studio Ghibli | 1985 - 2014

After recent rumors of Studio Ghibli closing their animation department and the low box office numbers for When Marnie Was There, it was time to make an appreciation post for a company that has created true movie magic again and again. So, thank you, Studio Ghibli. Hopefully it isn’t good-bye just yet. Studio Ghibli is no longer producing animated films. So here’s to you, Ghibli, and everything you’ve given us.

Where do you buy your pokedolls from? Especially some of the older ones?

Over the years, I’ve purchased my pokedolls from quite a few different places.  Flareon, Mudkip, Torchic, Mew, Lucario, and Cyndaquil were bought at Nintendo World in NYC.  I was able to come across an Ebay user from Seattle (where the Pokemon kiosks are located), and bought Leafeon and Glaceon off there. (PLEASE NOTE: I am extremely cautious of purchasing pokedolls from Ebay because the site it notorious for bootlegged pokedolls — which are often cheap, lumpy, and poorly made knock-offs of real pokedolls.)

Most of my Japanese Black and White pokedolls came from Pokevault (including Oshawott, Snivy, Zorua, Emolga, and Vanillete).  Lately I’ve been preordering a lot of the newer X and Y pokedolls from vectorsellsstuff, though I did give Sunyshore a go (I preordered Espurr and the Meowstics) when the pickups with Vec were temporarily unavailable.  As I’ve stated in a few of my more recent posts, my new Cleffa pokedoll was purchased from Pokemart.

Espeon, Eevee, Vaporeon, Skitty, Munchlax, Jolteon, Buneary, Mismagius, Spiritomb, Weavile, the Rotoms, and Axew were purchased from members of the PKMNCollectors community on Livejournal.  I’ve found that the community, as well as Yahoo!Japan, are the best places to find pokedolls that are a bit more uncommon/ on the rarer side.  I searched on and off for Espeon and Vaporeon for years before I found them in my price range and up to my standarts (I’m OCD about my pokedolls having their hang tags).  Yahoo!Japan is good for finding rare deals (I bought Togekiss, Raichu, Munna, Audino, and Minccino from there), but you need to use a middleman service if you don’t live in Japan — which means waiting a bit longer, and paying a bit more in fees and postage.

I hope that answers your question, anon!  If you’re looking for something in particular, feel free to let me know and I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for it :)
